Lightly seasoned - Season two and the son of TCG

A new year can only mean a new season... right? 

It seemed like as good a reason as any.

With too long between drinks and no new game to "review", the boys talk hobby, assorted nerdy things, and the projects and games we have managed so far for 2021.

Hindsight is always 20 20

Holy hell, it's 2021! This episode is really just the guys having a chat about what 2020 meant, what they... ahem... err.. "achieved" and what they are hoping 2021 brings them.

Just some easy listening about stuff we may or may not ever do, or have done.

We're up all night to get Funko - verse strategy game

You know pop vinyls? Course you do. Everyone knows pop vinyls! Turns out they made a game... A whole game about pop vinyls.

So because we are suckers, Brett bought it. With nothing better to do and pretty low expectations we decided to give it a run.

Hobby chat, other stuff... it's only been 8 days since the last one, give us a break!

Wish upon a cast, the unplayed games we need in our lives

Another episode already? What is this sorcery?!

This episode, since we haven't actually played a new game to talk about, we spend some time chatting about the games we would LIKE to be playing...

That is, the top 5 games that we would like to play, but haven't. With no prior collusion, and no idea what we are getting ourselves into, we chat about what makes a game something we would be keen on. Oh how our tastes differ.

Gaming and hobby chats, events, other stuff. Special mention to Phoenix, Brett's cat who really wanted to be a guest presenter. We ruled that mousetrap was not a suitable game for inclusion however.

Fresh blood... bowl 2020, the new edition is here

We have our grubby little hands on the new 2020 edition of bloodbowl!

We talk changes, first impressions, what the future of the game looks like for us, and take some bloodbowl virgins through their first game... after spending less than 24hrs with the new rules. What could go wrong?

All the hobby chat and other stuff as well... but, BLOODBOWL!

 

The Mordheim-lich maneuver

This episode we revive the original warhammer fantasy universe skirmish game, Mordheim! We talk through the basics, and play a couple of games,  kick starting a campaign.

Thoughtless Casual Winners

This episode we wrap up the TCG Hobby Challenge and talk through all stuff we did, then more importantly, all the awesome work people entered over the last month.

Just because it needs to be said yet again - we cannot believe the standard of work everyone entered. Blown. Away.

Decks of Metal - The DC Deck Building Game - Dark Nights Metal

In a slight departure from our standard fare, this episode we try out the DC deck building game, Dark Nights Metal edition. Some amazing artwork, and a sweet story don't automatically mean an awesome game - But it's definitely worth a crack to see if it can live up to the hype.

Under the boardwalk - Warhammer Underworlds

Maybe under the bridge would have been a better song lyric reference... That doesn't matter, because this episode we talk about Warhammer Underworlds, the deck building miniature game by none other than Games Workshop. We played a game (or maybe 2) and give you an insight into how the game plays, what we did, and our overall impressions of the game.

As always there is hobby talk, and probably the odd tangent.

An actual game is played! We get in and around the GW boxed game Space Hulk (3rd edition - 2009). Play through the first mission, chat about impressions and hobby and all kinds of other stuff.
